
The
Czech Republic, country in the hearth of Europe is situated on the area of
78.866 sq km.
It has 10.300.000 inhabitants and is composed of three territories – Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia.
Our climate is mild. The coldest month is January (about -1 °) and the hottest month is July –
(about 20°C). The capital is Prague, which is the seat of the president, government, parliament
and senate. Prague traverses the river of Vltava.
The hottest region is South Moravia, where you find vineyards with many wine taverns with a very
good red and white wine and where you can visit many beautiful castles and relax
on a lakeside.
South Bohemia is a region with many lakes and forests, full of mushrooms, blueberries and cranberries.
Also here you can visit many beautiful castles and admire their historical
expositions.
The highest mountain is Krkonoše with the highest peak of Snezka – 1602 m. Tourists visit this
beautiful mountain not only in winter but also in spring and summer.
The territory with greatest number of health resorts is the West Bohemia. It is also the region of our
best beer – Pilsner beer.
Czech Republic is an industrial country with following principal industries:
materials,
glass and porcelain, textile, woodworking and paper converting, food industry
etc.
Our agriculture and forestry is still on a good level. And naturally we cannot forget the tourist
industry, which is very important for the economy of our country.

Speed limitation on our roads: 50
km/h – towns, villages
90 km/h on a normal road
130 km/h on a motorway (highway) -
other speed limitations (f.e. repair of a
motorway,
near of a school, dangerous sections etc.)
must be
respected; - attention penalties of the
police are high!
In big towns it is possible to park your car or bus
only on reserved parking sites.
For travelling on our motorways you
must have
a motorway coupon. You can buy it on
the border
or at a filling station.

Company before you arrive to our country. If you don’t have
it you must pay cash the health attendance, if needed. Ask if
your country didn’t conclude an international agreement on
medical care with our country. In that case
your possible
health attendance could be free of charge in our country. If
